CHAD HARDIN ARTBOOK SKETCH COVER LONDON COMIC CON 2015

TODAY he is lauded for his work on DC’s hugely popular Harley Quinn but Chad Hardin has been drawing comics professionally for eight years before he was assigned that title, which he has illustrated since its 2014 relaunch. His first work was for Digital Webbing where he contributed to a couple of 2006 issues of its flagship Digital Webbing Presents anthology. The following year he drew Digital Webbing’s Bloodrayne: Tibetan Heights one-shot and a year later embarked on its Bloodrayne: Prime Cuts miniseries but only completed two issues before DC came calling. Starting off in 2008 by contributing to two issues of Countdown to Mystery, the artist – who also worked on 2008’s Warhammer: Condemned by Fire five-parter for BOOM! – to pencil three issues of The Spirit and contribute to three of Reign in Hell. That took him into 2009 which was when he worked for Marvel for the first time, contributing to Marvel Apes: Speedball Special, Marvel Apes: Grunt Line Special and Marvel Apes: Amazing Spider-Monkey Special before resuming work for DC as the regular penciller of Warlord for which he pencilled #3-6, 10-11 and 13-14. At the same time he was producing an increasing number of covers, most notably for various Farscape titles published by BOOM!, which hired him to illustrate The Traveller in 2010. He pencilled all 12 issues of that Stan Lee-created title while also drawing Our Fighting Forces #1 and four issues of Zatanna for DC. With The Traveller at an end, Hardin next turned up at Dark Horse where he drew three Dragon Age minis – The Silent Grove, Those who Speak and Until we Sleep – before heading back to DC for three issues of Demon Knights from where he moved on to Harley Quinn.
